Tan Boston is an Associate Professor of Law at Northern Kentucky University's Salmon P. Chase College of Law. Her scholarship focuses on intersections of sports law, intellectual property, and civil rights, particularly addressing Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) issues in college athletics. She has published in leading journals including Stanford Journal of Civil Rights & Civil Liberties and Virginia Journal of Law & Technology.
- Earned LL.M. and J.D. from University of Dayton School of Law and University of Virginia School of Law respectively
- Former visiting professor at Chase College of Law (2020-21) and director of graduate legal programs at University of Dayton
Her research explores NIL compensation frameworks, NCAA amateurism policies, and Title IX implications in collegiate sports. Recent publications examine NIL data transparency and structural barriers in athlete compensation systems.
