Dr. Tamara Wood is a Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of Tasmania's Faculty of Law and concurrently serves as a Senior Research Fellow at the Kaldor Centre for International Refugee Law, UNSW Sydney since October 2023. Her expertise spans international refugee law, regional refugee frameworks (particularly in Africa), climate change displacement, and complementary protection pathways. She advises organizations such as UNHCR, IOM, and the World Bank, and leads initiatives like the Climate Mobility Africa Research Network (CMARN).

Her research focuses on refugee protection in crises, disaster displacement, and free movement agreements. She has published in journals like the International and Comparative Law Quarterly and chairs the International Journal of Refugee Law Case Law Editorial Team.
Dr. Wood's advisory roles include the Platform on Disaster Displacement and the Institute for Security Studies Africa. She supervises doctoral research on African refugee frameworks and climate migration solutions.
