Dr. Douglas Cubie is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Law at University College Cork (UCC), specializing in humanitarian law, disaster law, and climate justice. He holds a PhD from UCC (2013) and an LLM from the University of Cambridge (2000). Prior to academia, he worked with organizations like UNHCR, IOM, and the Irish Red Cross, focusing on refugee protection and disaster response. His current roles include co-editing the Yearbook of International Disaster Law and leading UCC's Disaster Research Cluster. He has secured grants totaling over €500,000, including projects on disaster law integration and climate adaptation.
