Talila Milroy is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of General Practice at the UWA Medical School, The University of Western Australia. She holds a dual qualification: a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Sydney (2015) and a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) from the same institution (2010). Her research focuses on Aboriginal health, endometriosis management, and cultural safety in healthcare, with a particular emphasis on addressing health disparities faced by Indigenous populations. Current roles include a Research Associate position with the Leaders in Indigenous Medical Education Network (2023–2024).
Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to education and health equity. Notable projects include a parenting program to improve Aboriginal parent and child wellbeing (ARC-funded, 2023–2027) and a study on Aboriginal women’s perspectives on menstrual health (2023–2027). Grants also include collaborations with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Research interests span general practice innovations, health literacy for marginalized groups, and improving diagnostic practices for conditions like endometriosis. Recent publications address cultural safety in medical training and the acceptability of clinical tools for endometriosis screening.
