TSUI Kai Chong

TSUI Kai Chong is a distinguished academic leader and current Provost of the Singapore Institute of Management. He previously served as the Founding Dean of the School of Business at Singapore Management University (SMU) from 1999 to 2003, shaping its academic programs and infrastructure. His contributions include designing a globally oriented business curriculum, pioneering wireless IT systems on campus, and fostering student-centric education. He later held Vice Provost roles overseeing undergraduate and graduate education at SMU.

Prof. Tsui holds a PhD and Master’s in Finance from New York University. His research focuses on financial forecasting, asset pricing, and corporate capital structure, with notable work on corporate financial distress prediction and Eurodollar futures markets. He has served on the editorial board of the Financial Analysts Journal since 2003.

He currently chairs K-REIT Asia Management and sits on boards of Keppel Land, Fullerton Fund Management, and the Intellectual Property Academy Singapore. Recognitions include the Honorary Alumnus Award from SMU for his transformative impact on the university’s development.

Prof. Tsui’s leadership emphasized student participation and innovation, evident in initiatives like competitive case competitions and student-led clubs. His legacy includes SMU’s reputation for producing enterprising graduates and a dynamic academic environment.
