KHOO Teng Aun

Professor KHOO Teng Aun is a faculty member at Singapore Management University (SMU)'s School of Accountancy, specializing in corporate reporting, taxation, and entrepreneurial studies. He was a key member of SMU's startup team in 1999, contributing to foundational decisions such as admissions processes, library planning, and pedagogical strategies emphasizing interactive teaching. His research focuses on digital financial reporting, multinational corporate systems, and taxation. He also teaches in SMU’s Master of IT in Business program and collaborates with Nanyang Technological University's MBA program.

Before joining SMU, he worked as an auditor, company secretary, and financial accountant for a decade. He held faculty roles at Nanyang Technological University (1987–1999) and the National University of Singapore (post-master’s). He currently serves on Singapore’s Income Tax Board of Review and the Ministry of Education’s focus group. He is an assessor for the Association of Taxation Technicians and a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore.
