Søren Kerndrup is an Associate Professor at the Department of Sustainability and Planning within the Technical Faculty of IT and Design at Aalborg University. His work focuses on sustainable development, circular economy, and innovation processes. He is affiliated with the Sustainability, Innovation and Policy Center and the Danish Centre for Health Informatics. Key projects include leading strategies for green transitions in fashion and textiles, circular economy initiatives, and sustainable production frameworks.
Research interests include regional entrepreneurialism, circular economy implementation, waste management innovation, and participatory design approaches. His projects emphasize collaborative problem-solving and policy integration, such as the GRØN: Grønne Ressource - Økosystemer Nordjylland initiative (2020–2022) and Circular Innovation in Partnerships (2018–2020).
Recent publications analyze industrial symbiosis frameworks, waste-to-value strategies, and circular tourism models. He actively engages with industry through workshops and negotiation games to translate academic insights into practical tools. Grants include leadership roles in projects like BP: Bæredygtig Produktion 3.0 (2015–2018) and Strategies for Leading Circular and Green Transition (2025).
