Rikke Marie Moalem is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Sustainability and Planning, Aalborg University (Technical Faculty of IT and Design). Her work focuses on circular economy, waste management, and sustainable policy frameworks. She holds a Ph.D. in Circular Economy and Waste (2022) and has held an external position as Project Leader at Fredensborg Kommune (2022-2024).
Educations: Ph.D. in Circular Economy and Waste (2022).
Research Interests: Circular transition models, multilayer packaging sustainability, waste valorization, and equitable integration of formal/informal waste sectors. She explores these themes through material flow analysis, stakeholder engagement, and policy design, with case studies in Denmark, India, and Southeast Asia.
Recent Projects: Includes 'CE Beyond Waste-C11' (2022-2024) and 'REuseLAB Bornholm' (2022-2025), focusing on scalable reuse models and circular packaging solutions. Collaborative efforts with Bornholms Affaldsbehandling and Asian stakeholders highlight her global approach.
Awards: 2022 Ph.D. in Circular Economy and Waste.
Grants & Activities: Led projects totaling DKK millions, including strategic environmental assessments in Asia (2021-2023) and energy-ressource systems research (2019-2021). Active in workshops like the Positive Energy District initiative (2024).
