Suze Gilbert is an Associate Professor and Program Director of the Christian Education Program at Lipscomb University’s College of Education, serving since 2018. She leads Lipscomb’s Reading Specialty and Literacy graduate programs. Her work focuses on literacy, teacher development, and curriculum design, with a specific emphasis on PreK-12 education in public and private schools.
Dr. Gilbert holds an Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction (Language Arts focus) from Tennessee State University, an Ed.S. and M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Middle Tennessee State University, and a B.S. in Elementary Education from Freed-Hardeman University.
Her research interests include content-area reading strategies, writing pedagogy, leadership in literacy, and fostering classroom communities. She actively collaborates with Eastern European Missions (EEM), co-developing a Character Education Curriculum for Ukrainian educators since 2018. Previously, she taught at Middle Tennessee State University and directed the Middle Tennessee Writing Project.
