Suthakaran Veerasamy

Suthakaran Veerasamy is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. His research focuses on counseling psychology with emphasis on racial identity, religious identity, and multicultural education. He teaches courses such as Culture and Mental Health, Theories of Counseling and Psychotherapy, and Counseling and Therapy Methods.

He has been recognized as a UWL Teaching Scholar through the Wisconsin Teaching Fellows & Scholars Program (2017), emphasizing his commitment to pedagogical innovation and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL).

He has presented at events such as the League of Women Voters Lunch & Learn (2021) and collaborated on community initiatives like Focus on Equality (2019), addressing topics like masculinity myths and experiential learning in diversity education.
