Susanne K. Raab

Susanne K. Raab is an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of British Columbia’s Allard School of Law, where she teaches medical negligence and develops legal curricula. She is a practicing medical malpractice lawyer at Pacific Medical Law, specializing in birth injuries, catastrophic brain injuries, and spinal cord injuries. Recognized as a leader in medical malpractice litigation, she holds the prestigious Fellowship of the Litigation Counsel of America and consistent recognition in Best Lawyers in Canada and the Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory.

Her legal career includes representing physicians in complex malpractice cases and appearing in all British Columbia courts and the Supreme Court of Canada. She actively contributes to legal education through lectures on health law topics across Canada and internationally, including roles with the Trial Lawyers Association of BC and Canadian Bar Association. She chairs and presents at conferences focusing on medical negligence, expert testimony, and healthcare ethics.

Raab advocates for disability rights through founding CP Support Canada, providing resources to families of children with cerebral palsy, and previously serving as President of the Cerebral Palsy Association of British Columbia. Her academic and professional leadership spans roles on education committees, health law subsections, and the American Association of Justice’s Birth Trauma Litigation Group.
