Erica Olmstead is an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia's Allard School of Law, where she teaches Appellate Advocacy. She is also a practicing lawyer specializing in immigration, refugee, and criminal law, with a focus on complex inadmissibility cases and legal appeals. Her work emphasizes addressing overbroad legal interpretations and promoting access to justice through litigation and advocacy.
Erica serves as a case review lawyer with Legal Aid BC's Appeals Department, advising on immigration, refugee, and criminal law matters. She actively contributes to legal education through presentations at national conferences and CLE courses, focusing on intersections of immigration and criminal law, refugee appeals, and humanitarian considerations.
