Nikos Harris

Nikos Harris, KC is an Associate Professor of Teaching at the Allard School of Law, University of British Columbia. He holds a B.A. from Simon Fraser University and an LL.B. from UBC. His academic roles include teaching criminal law, evidence, and ethics, alongside serving as an advocacy advisor for the Supreme Court Advocacy Institute. He has extensive experience as appellate counsel and has been recognized with the Raymond Herbert Award.

Research interests focus on criminal law, legal education, and evidence law. His work has been cited in judicial decisions and includes analyses of access to justice, Charter rights, and technological impacts on legal education. Notable publications address Rowbotham applications, post-offence conduct in criminal trials, and the right to silence under the Charter.

Professional engagements include guest lectures for organizations like Continuing Legal Education and the Trial Lawyers Association. He previously served as a judicial clerk at the British Columbia Court of Appeal.
