Susanna Snyder is a Lecturer in Ethics and Theology at Sarum College in Salisbury, serving as Programme Leader for Short Courses and Director of Research. She concurrently teaches and supervises students on the MTh in Applied Theology at the University of Oxford. Previously, she held positions at Emory University, Episcopal Divinity School, the University of Texas at Austin, and was Academic Dean at Ripon College Cuddesdon. Her academic affiliations include an Associate role at the Centre for Theology and Modern European Thought (CTMET) and editorial board membership at Studies in Christian Ethics.
She holds a PhD from the University of Birmingham, a BATS (Bachelor of Arts in Theology and Religious Studies), and an MA from the University of Cambridge. Her research focuses on Christian Social Ethics, migration theology, environmental ethics, parenting ethics, and the intersection of arts with spirituality. She actively engages with social justice issues through a theological lens, emphasizing hope and practical theological applications.
As a member of the Society for the Study of Christian Ethics and the British and Irish Association for Practical Theology, her work bridges theoretical and applied theology. She leads research projects at Sarum College and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams in modern European theological studies.
