Eleanor McLaughlin is a Lecturer in Theology at Ripon College Cuddesdon and an Associate Member of the Faculty of Theology and Religion at the University of Oxford. She previously held positions at the University of Winchester, Regent's Park College, and Sarum College, where she directed the MA in Theology, Imagination and Culture from 2021 to 2023.
Eleanor holds a BA and DPhil from the University of Oxford and a Maîtrise en Théologie from the University of Geneva. Her research focuses on Dietrich Bonhoeffer's theology, disability theology, theological anthropology, and the intersection of technology and human flourishing. She is particularly known for her work on Bonhoeffer's late theology and its implications for contemporary religious thought.
Her publications include the book Unconscious Christianity in Bonhoeffer’s Late Theology (2020) and articles in leading theological journals. She has contributed to BBC Radio 4’s In Our Time on Bonhoeffer and serves as a trustee for Project Bonhoeffer.
Eleanor is affiliated with the Centre for Theology and Modern European Thought at Oxford and the Project for the Study of Love in Religion. Her work bridges historical theology, ethics, and contemporary issues in science and technology.
