Susanna Molander is an Associate Professor and Lecturer at the Department of Business Administration, Stockholm University. She leads the Research Group for Consumer Culture Theory, examining how market actors use commercial objects to construct identities and practices. Her interdisciplinary background blends business administration and ethnology.
Her research explores:
- Consumption as a symbolic resource for identity expression
- Parenthood routines and family dynamics
- Political influences on consumer behavior
- Brand adaptation in evolving markets
- Methodological innovations in consumer studies
Publications (2011-2022) predominantly analyze consumer culture through gender, parenthood, and cultural change lenses, using ethnographic and visual analysis methods across 10+ peer-reviewed works.
She collaborates with the Center for Arts, Business and Culture (Stockholm School of Economics) and previously visited City University of New York (2017-2019).
