Dr. Susan K. Marell is a Professor of Psychology at St. Thomas Aquinas College, where she has dedicated over 37 years to teaching, mentoring, and advancing the psychology program. Her career spans roles such as director of the Honors Program, chairperson of the Division of Social Sciences, and Executive Councilor for Academic Standards on the Faculty Senate.

Dr. Marell’s research focuses on mental health, resilience, and psychological principles applied to sustainability. She pioneered courses like Positive Psychology (2004) and is developing Psychology for Sustainability, exploring behavioral solutions to climate change. Her work has been recognized through presentations at professional conferences and publications in scholarly journals.
Notable contributions include establishing a hybrid bachelor’s/master’s program with NYU’s MSW program, enabling students to earn dual degrees in five years. Over 100 students have completed this pathway, advancing careers in clinical and educational settings.
