Barbara Vano is an Assistant Professor of Sport Management Studies at St. Thomas Aquinas College's School of Business, where she has served for 47 years. Her roles include teaching courses like Foundations of Recreation and Sport, and advising the Sport Management Club. She emphasizes experiential learning, encouraging students to organize events and learn through practical experience.
Education: B.S. in Physical Education and M.A. in Health Education from Adelphi University.
Research interests focus on fostering sportsmanship, athletic program development, and applying sport management principles to real-world scenarios. She advocates for student-led initiatives to build confidence and decision-making skills.
Awards: Inducted into Adelphi University Hall of Fame for her role in an undefeated field hockey team (1965–1971).
