Dr. Sunanda Gaur is a Professor of Pediatrics and Director of the Robert Wood Johnson AIDS Program at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Rutgers University. She has been a leading figure in pediatric HIV care since 1983 and has held her current directorship since 1995. Dr. Gaur co-directs the South Asian Total Health Initiative (SATHI), focusing on improving health outcomes for South Asians in the U.S. Her research interests include HIV/AIDS, international health, tuberculosis, and community outreach. She chairs the Advisory Committee of New Jersey’s Statewide Family-Centered HIV Care Network and directs the Pediatric Clinical Research Center at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, the only dedicated pediatric clinical research facility in New Jersey.
Dr. Gaur’s work emphasizes collaborative advocacy and enhancing healthcare standards statewide. Her leadership spans multidisciplinary initiatives addressing HIV-related policy, pediatric clinical research, and health equity for underserved populations.
