Sun Shijie is a Professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Architecture, Southeast University. His research focuses on urban regeneration, urban planning theory and method, and urban traffic space development.

He has led one NSFC-funded program and participated in four NSFC-funded programs. His awards include the Huaxia Construction Science and Technology Award, Ministry of Education Science and Technology Progress Award, and the National Teaching Achievement Award (First Prize, 2018).
