Dr. Sukhpreet Singh is a Lecturer in Marketing at Lancaster University Management School (LUMS). He also teaches courses in Big Data Analytics and Data Ethics at the University of Edinburgh, where he received an Exceptional Performance Contribution Reward (2022). Additionally, he serves as a Tribunal Member in Scotland’s Employment Tribunals, adjudicating on employment disputes such as discrimination and harassment. His academic career spans over 20 years, including roles at Bournemouth University (PhD and part-time Lecturer) and the University of Glasgow (CREATe project leadership).
Education:
- PhD in Marketing (fully funded), Bournemouth University (2006–2010)
- Prior corporate experience with Tata Group’s Indian Hotels Company Limited
Research Focus: Creative industries management, strategic exploitation of TV formats, and intellectual property (IP) rights. His work bridges legal and marketing strategies in media, emphasizing global monetization of formats. He also explores AI and big data applications in marketing, advocating for ethical data practices.

Advising & Projects: Supervises PhD students on IP-negative spaces and AI in business. Co-led the CREATe project at Glasgow (2012–2018), a UKRI initiative addressing creative economy challenges. His research has directly influenced TV format rights industries and legal practices.
