Research Interests
Lingling Wei’s scholarship is anchored in two principal domains: intellectual-property law, where her expertise centres on trade-mark and design law, ambush-marketing regulation, and comparative brand-protection policy; and cyber law, where she interrogates data-protection regimes, platform-liability frameworks, and the legal challenges posed by emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence. Her work adopts socio-legal and mixed-methodological lenses, engaging industry stakeholders and policy-making bodies to translate academic insight into practical guidance.
Research Outputs & Trends
Her publications (spanning 2004–2015) demonstrate a sustained engagement with Olympic branding, ambush-marketing litigation, and European trade-mark jurisprudence, while more recent conference presentations (2014–2017) reveal a strategic pivot toward regulating internet intermediaries in China and comparative EU-China perspectives. Cross-cutting themes include the intersection of IP enforcement, cultural-heritage considerations, and global sustainability.
