Sue Perryman is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Sunderland, part of the School of Media and Creative Industries. She specializes in entertainment formats, participatory fan cultures, and the use of audience-generated content. She co-authored the book Adventures with the Wife in Space - Living with Doctor Who (Faber and Faber, 2013). Her current research focuses on immersive learning strategies in short-term study trips and their impact on graduate employability outcomes.
Teaching Responsibilities:
- Module Leader for MED 222 (Shoot. Edit. Share: Self-Shooting Online Video), MED 219 (TV Studio: Production & Development), MED 338 (TV Studio: Format Factory), and MAC 307 (Video Production II)
- Supports teaching in MED 326 and MA Radio, Audio and Podcasting
Research Interests: Her work explores how immersive learning experiences enhance employability in media and creative industries, alongside fan culture dynamics and digital media production.
