Su Yeon Cho is an Assistant Professor in Advertising and Integrated Communication at Quinnipiac University. She holds a BBA and MA from Hongik University, an MS from Iowa State University, and a PhD from the University of Miami. Her research focuses on social media marketing, digital branding, and consumer behavior, particularly exploring the impact of social media influencers, CGI technology, and cross-cultural communication strategies. She teaches courses such as Strategies for Social Media, Social Media and Society, and Public Relations and New Media.
Her work examines topics like Gen Z consumer behavior, the psychological effects of social comparisons with influencers, and the application of AI-generated imagery in brand communication. Notably, she has conducted cross-cultural studies comparing the U.S. and South Korea regarding CGI influencers. Her research also addresses employer reputation management through employee social media activity and the framing of AI in media narratives.
Cho’s academic contributions highlight the intersection of technology, consumer psychology, and brand strategy. Her articles frequently analyze how digital platforms shape brand relationships and consumer perceptions, with a focus on emerging technologies like CGI and AI.
