Steve Marshall is a Post Doc Research Fellow at the Cicely Saunders Institute of Palliative Care, Policy & Rehabilitation, King's College London. He holds a PhD in Palliative Care (2016) and serves as a Palliative Care Social Worker at King's College Hospital since 2014. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and well-being.
Research focuses on grief, bereavement, LGBTQ+ health communication, and supporting children with life-limiting illnesses. Key studies include exploring liminality in grief theories, developing inclusive communication guides for LGBTQ+ patients, and analyzing bereavement impacts across gender partnerships.
He co-led a Marie Curie-funded project (2018–2022) to create guidelines for supporting children pre-bereavement. Over 400 citations highlight his contributions to palliative care and healthcare equity.
