Dr. Lisa Jane Brighton is a Lecturer in Applied Health Research at King’s College London, affiliated with the Cicely Saunders Institute of Palliative Care, Policy & Rehabilitation within the Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery and Palliative Care. She holds a BSc in Psychology from the University of Bath and advanced degrees (MSc in Palliative Care, PhD in Health Services Research) from King’s College London. Her career progression includes roles from research assistant to her current academic position, with an ESRC post-doctoral fellowship in health psychology.
Her research focuses on psychological and social aspects of chronic respiratory disease, rehabilitation for frail populations, and breathlessness management. She co-developed an online forum for patient involvement in palliative care research and co-chaired the Cicely Saunders Institute’s public involvement executive group (2018–2020).
