Stephen Camarata is a Professor of Hearing & Speech Sciences and Psychiatry at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and a Professor of Special Education at Peabody College. He holds additional roles as an Investigator at the John F. Kennedy Center for Research on Developmental Disabilities, where he served as Acting Director (1999–2002) and directed the Communication and Learning Program (2002–2009). His research focuses on identifying and treating speech, language disorders, and hearing loss in populations such as autism, Down Syndrome, and phonological disorders.
