Professor Stephen Houghton is a registered psychologist and Director of the Centre for Child & Adolescent Related Disorders at the University of Western Australia. He holds a Visiting Professorship at the University of Strathclyde's School of Psychological and Health Sciences in Glasgow, Scotland. His expertise spans child and adolescent developmental psychopathology, mental health promotion, loneliness, and innovative treatment interventions. With an h-index of 40 and over 6,000 citations, his work addresses critical issues like electronic screen use impacts and neurodevelopmental disorders. He leads major grants, including an ARC longitudinal study on loneliness in adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders and a Healthway project developing 3-D animated cognitive bias modification therapies.
