Nisreen Aouira is a researcher with the School of Public Health at the University of Queensland, currently serving as a Principal Research Project Officer in the First Nations Cancer and Wellbeing Research (FNCWR) program. She manages the project "A preference-informed model to improve access and equity in bowel screening for Australia’s First Nations people through home care services" and has held prior roles as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Child Health Research Centre, focusing on antidepressant response in Major Depressive Disorders, and as an Allied health professional studying the mental health impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on children and adolescents.

Research Interests: Nisreen’s work spans mental health, pharmacy, and public health, with a focus on child and adolescent health, metabolic monitoring of antipsychotics, health equity, and cancer screening for Indigenous Australian populations. Her publications reflect this interdisciplinary approach, particularly in clinical research, medication safety, and neurodevelopmental health outcomes.
Publications: Her recent work includes methodological studies comparing electronic and paper-based clinical audit systems, systematic reviews of pharmacotherapy for conduct disorders, and longitudinal mental health research involving families with neurodevelopmental conditions. She also contributes to improving metabolic monitoring practices for antipsychotic prescriptions in pediatric settings.
Collaborations: Nisreen has collaborated with multidisciplinary teams across institutions such as the Child Health Research Centre and University of Queensland, working alongside experts in mental health, pharmacy, and Indigenous health equity.
