معرفی
Stephanie Anderson is a Novo Nordisk Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Oxford's Department of Cardiovascular Medicine. Her work focuses on integrating multi-omics approaches to study inflammation and cardiac function in diabetes and cardiovascular disease. She collaborates with industry partners like GSK and AstraZeneca, and her current project investigates VCAM-1+ extracellular vesicles as potential biomarkers for acute myocardial infarction diagnosis in diabetic patients.
- Education:
- BSc (Hons) in Genetics, University of Glasgow
- MRes in Translational Medicine (Distinction), University of Glasgow
- DPhil in Physiology, Anatomy & Genetics, University of Oxford
Her research interests include immunomodulation, cardiac energetics, and the role of magnetic resonance imaging/spectroscopy in translational medicine. She explores how inflammation impacts the diabetic heart's immunophenotype and seeks novel therapeutic targets through extracellular vesicle analysis.
Collaborations & Projects: Engaged in collaborative projects with academic and pharmaceutical partners to evaluate pharmacological modulation of cardiac metabolism. Current work emphasizes early detection of cardiovascular complications in diabetes via multi-omics and extracellular vesicle profiling.
Labs/Teams: Collaborates within the Akbar Group (Extracellular Vesicles in Cardiovascular Disease) and Choudhury Group (Inflammatory Processes in Atherosclerosis).
