معرفی
Robin Choudhury is a Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Oxford and an Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at the John Radcliffe Hospital. He is a Fellow in Biomedical Sciences at Balliol College and an affiliated researcher at the Institute of Regenerative Medicine. His research focuses on inflammatory processes in atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction, and the role of innate immune cells such as monocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils. He leads the Choudhury Group, investigating hyperglycemia-induced trained immunity and stem cell programming.
Education:
- Qualified in medicine at the University of Oxford
- Postgraduate training at Royal Brompton Hospital, Hammersmith Hospital (London), and Mount Sinai School of Medicine (New York)
Research Interests: Choudhury’s work integrates immunology, metabolism, and regenerative biology. Key areas include:
- Cellular mechanisms of tissue repair post-myocardial infarction
- Role of extracellular vesicles in immune cell programming
- Metabolic drivers of inflammation in diabetes and cardiovascular disease
Grants & Leadership:
- Co-Principal Investigator (co-PI) of the MeRIAD consortium (Novo Nordisk Foundation)
- Joint clinical lead in the MRC-BHF REACT Centre
- UK Chief Investigator for the ZEUS clinical trial (Ziltivekimab)
Labs & Teams: The Choudhury Group collaborates across disciplines, linking basic science to clinical translation in cardiovascular medicine and regenerative therapies.
