معرفی
Sean Hardy is a Junior Research Fellow at St John's College, University of Oxford, conducting independent cardiovascular research within the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics (DPAG) until 2027. He leads the Riley Research Group with clinical collaborations at John Radcliffe Hospital.
His research program investigates vascular, immune, and fibrotic responses across cardiovascular disease stages through two primary branches:
- Translational models trialing angiogenesis/lymphangiogenesis stimulation post-myocardial infarction
- Identification of novel therapeutic targets for coronary microvascular disease using patient tissue biopsies
Hardy's publication record (2019-2023) reveals consistent focus on molecular mechanisms of cardiac remodeling, fibrosis pathways, and regenerative therapies. His work bridges pre-clinical models with clinical applications, emphasizing STING pathway modulation, extracellular matrix dynamics, and stem cell paracrine effects. Recent high-impact publications in JACC Basic Transl Sci, Nature Scientific Reports, and Stem Cell Reviews demonstrate translational relevance to post-infarction healing and microvascular disease prevention.
He completed his PhD in 2023 through an international collaboration between the University of Newcastle (Australia) and Medical University of Graz (Austria), conducting research at both institutions prior to securing his Oxford fellowship.
