Stella Giovanni

Stella Giovanni is a Full Professor of Private Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Pavia. She holds a Doctor of Research degree from the University of Ferrara and has held academic positions at Bocconi University and the University of Pavia since 1995. Her research focuses on obligations and contracts, credit guarantees, and civil liability, with notable expertise in sales contracts, banking guarantees, and producer liability.

Education: Graduated with honors in Law from the University of Pavia (1990), completed a Doctorate in Civil Law at the University of Ferrara (1994).

Research highlights include studies on autonomous guarantees, E.U. banking regulations, and conflict of interest in corporate governance. She has authored over 20 monographs and articles in leading journals like Responsabilità civile e previdenza and contributes to editorial boards. Awards include the 1995 L. Bocconi Award for her monograph on creditor obligations.

Teaching roles include courses on contract law and commercial guarantees at Bocconi University and the University of Pavia. Professional activities include membership in the Associazione Civilisti Italiani and roles in PhD program governance at the University of Pavia.
