Federico Pistelli is a Research Fellow and Contract Professor at the Department of Economics and Management under the Faculty of Law at the University of Trento. His academic career includes roles such as Ricercatore a tempo determinato (Type A) at the University of Trento (2022), and research positions at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law (2018-2023). He holds a PhD in Legal Sciences from the University of Florence (2020) and a Master’s degree in Law (cum laude, 2015) from the same institution.
His research focuses on Civil Law, Contract Law, Consumer Protection, Banking Law, Sustainability Law, and European/German Private Law. Key themes include contractual risk management, financial regulation, sustainability clauses, and digital governance. He has presented at major conferences such as the Incontri di Diritto Privato (2023), the Just Parents European Project Final Conference (2023), and the Camera di Commercio Internazionale (2023).
Professional affiliations include Fellow of the European Law Institute (ELI, 2023), Corresponding Member of the Associazione Civilisti Italiani (2022), and membership on editorial boards such as the Rivista di Fascia A “Persona e Mercato” (2021). He has received the 2024 Premio Alto Merito Scientifico for his work on contractual indexation.
His teaching spans topics like contract law, corporate governance, and sustainability frameworks at the University of Trento. Research projects include investigations into supply chain governance, algorithmic trading regulation, and ESG-linked financial instruments. He has also held legal traineeships at the European Central Bank (2020) and the DIRE Institute (2016).
