Daniela Barbierato is a Tenured Researcher of Private Law at the Department of Law of the University of Bergamo, where she also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Private Law. She is additionally an Invited Professor at the University Lumière Lyon 2 - MINERVE DROIT Italian International Program, teaching "Law of Obligations" continuously from the 2017/2018 through 2024/2025 academic years.
Her institutional roles include:
- Member of the Disability Services Commission of the University of Bergamo as the Contact Person for the Department of Law
- Member of the Quality Assurance Management Group (Review Group) for the degree program in National and International Corporate Law
- Member of the Editorial Board of the journal "Responsabilità Civile e Previdenza"
Barbierato maintains extensive teaching experience across multiple institutions:
- University of Bergamo: Taught Private Law and Civil Law in various degree programs since 2000
- Bocconi University: Served as lecturer and professor in economics and business programs from 2000-2015

Her work primarily examines Titles III (Individual Contracts), XII (Protection Measures for Persons Deprived of Autonomy), XIII (Alimony), and XIV (Civil Registry Acts), reflecting both traditional legal scholarship and contemporary legal challenges, particularly her 2022 work on digital inheritance.
She actively contributes to legal scholarship through her editorial board membership and ongoing teaching commitments at multiple institutions, maintaining a strong presence in both Italian and international legal education circles.
