معرفی
Stefan Neubauer is a Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine, Head of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, and Director of the Oxford Centre for Clinical Magnetic Resonance Research (OCMR) at the University of Oxford. He leads a team of ~60 researchers and has overseen over £180M in research funding. His work focuses on advancing Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR) imaging, liver and multiorgan MR imaging, and coronary CT imaging.
Neubauer’s research spans mechanistic studies in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), heart failure, and metabolic disorders, alongside large-scale population imaging projects like the UK Biobank. He pioneered the HCM Registry, a global study involving 44 centers to redefine risk stratification in HCM. His lab develops cutting-edge techniques such as 7T imaging, hyperpolarized 13C spectroscopy, and real-time imaging, collaborating with institutions worldwide.
He has received prestigious awards including the SCMR Gold Medal (2013) and European Magnetic Resonance Award (2010), and holds leadership roles in the British Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance and the European Heart Journal. He founded Perspectum (biomedical imaging) and Caristo Diagnostics (cardiac CT).
- Advising: Supervised >50 PhD/MD students (e.g., Lucy Hudsmith, Joseph Selvanayagam).
- Grants: Major funders include the British Heart Foundation (BHF), National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), and NIH USA.
Labs/Teams: Directs OCMR, collaborates with leaders like Prof. Hugh Watkins (genetics) and Prof. Charalambos Antoniades (cardiac inflammation).
