معرفی
Professor Betty Raman is an Associate Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Oxford's Radcliffe Department of Medicine. She holds roles as an Honorary Consultant Cardiologist, NIHR South Central RRDN Cardiology Specialty Lead, and Wellcome Career Development Award Fellow. Her research focuses on advanced cardiac imaging techniques (e.g., CMR), inherited cardiovascular diseases, and the long-term effects of COVID-19 on multiorgan systems. She leads the Raman Group, pioneering precision medicine in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) through imaging and machine learning.
Education: MBBS, DPhil (Oxford), Fellowships in Cardiology (FRACP, FESC). Key awards include the Wellcome Career Development Award (2024) and British Heart Foundation Intermediate Clinical Research Fellowship (2020). Her work has been recognized with multiple national/international young investigator awards (ESC, AHA, BSCMR).
Research Interests: HCM pathophysiology, myocardial oxygenation imaging, and translational therapies. Recent studies include the C-MORE multicenter MRI study on post-COVID-19 organ damage and genetic analyses of HCM mechanisms.
Grants & Funding: Wellcome Trust (2024), BHF (2020), and multiple collaborative grants. Active projects include metabolic modulation therapies for HCM and longitudinal cohort studies on long-COVID cardiovascular impacts.
Labs/Teams: Raman Group (precision medicine in HCM), collaboration with Neubauer Group (clinical MRI research), and leadership in the PHOSP-COVID initiative.
Publications span 2023–2025, emphasizing CMR innovations, genetic discoveries in HCM, and post-COVID-19 multiorgan health outcomes. She is an EDI Champion in cardiovascular medicine at Oxford.
