Dr. Stacey Webb is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Languages & Intercultural Studies at Heriot-Watt University, Scotland. With over 25 years of experience as a sign language interpreter and educator, she bridges academic research with professional practice. Her primary roles include teaching interpreting/translation modules, supervising postgraduate and PhD students, and contributing to program development. She holds administrative responsibilities in marketing, recruitment, and strategic planning for LINCS programs.
Research interests focus on digital technology in interpreter education, higher education structures affecting interpreter training, and multilingual identity development. Key projects include analyzing shifts in attitudes toward minority languages during sign language learning and exploring AI-driven tools' impact on interpreting education.
Her publications span 2015–2025, emphasizing global perspectives on sign language education, technology integration, and professionalization. Notable works include the 2025 edited volume International Perspectives on Sign Language Translator & Interpreter Education.
