Dr Sophie Gallop is a Senior Lecturer in Law at Nottingham Law School, Nottingham Trent University. Her research focuses on the intersection of international human rights law and public law, particularly addressing judicial independence, separation of powers, and their impact on human rights protection.

Sophie has worked on externally funded projects such as the US State Department-funded Armenian Advocates Programme, the AHRC-funded 'Scoping the Future Law and Social Justice' project, and the Ministry of Justice Sentencing Council project on domestic abuse. She has published extensively in academic journals and media outlets like The Conversation and European Journal of Current Legal Issues, and she actively contributes to policy discussions, including appearances before the House of Lords.
