Dr Seema Patel is an Associate Professor in Sports Law at Nottingham Law School, Nottingham Trent University. Her expertise lies in gender discrimination, human rights in sports, and regulatory frameworks balancing inclusion and exclusion in competitive sport.

Her research focuses on gender diversity in sports, trans athlete participation, and legal protections for athletes. She has contributed to global panels and government consultations on inclusivity policies, including the UK House of Lords report on sport and recreation.
