Sophia Ra is an Associate Lecturer (Teaching and Leadership) in the Translation and Interpreting Program at Macquarie University's Department of Linguistics, part of the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences. She holds a PhD from the University of New South Wales, focusing on healthcare interpreters' ethical challenges in multicultural societies. Her research emphasizes healthcare interpreting, intercultural communication, and interpreter training.
