Sophia Maalsen is a Senior Lecturer in Urbanism at the School of Architecture, Design and Planning, University of Sydney. She is an ARC DECRA Fellow and leads research at the intersection of digital technologies and urban governance, with a focus on housing affordability, tenant advocacy, and feminist approaches to urban spaces.
Her research explores computational logics in housing innovation, the digital mediation of urban relationships, and the socio-political implications of smart cities. She is affiliated with the Sydney Environment Institute and Sydney Southeast Asia Centre.
