Dr Sonya Clarke is a Senior Lecturer (Education) in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Queen's University Belfast. Her research focuses on nurse education, children and young people's health, and innovative applications of gamification in healthcare training. She coordinates the MSc Professional Children and Young People's Nursing program and the orthopaedics pathway in CPAD.
Her research interests include child-centred methodologies, pediatric nursing education, and the development of serious games to improve health literacy. She has led projects such as the co-design of the Kids Dementia Game and the Brain Health Game for primary school children, aiming to reduce dementia risks through early education.

Dr Clarke supervises PhD students in pediatric nursing education and clinical simulation techniques. Her work bridges educational innovation with clinical practice, emphasizing the importance of student confidence and skill development in pediatric care.
