Songül Demir

Assoc. Prof. Songül Demir is affiliated with Yıldız Technical University, Faculty of Arts & Science, Department of Philosophy. Her academic career spans over two decades, focusing on philosophy, social sciences, and critical theory.

• Education: Doctorate in Philosophy from Freie Universität Berlin (2002-2010), Postgraduate in Philosophy from Gazi University (1995-1997), Undergraduate in Philosophy from Hacettepe University (1989-1994).

Her research interests include Nietzschean philosophy, Hannah Arendt studies, Hegelian dialectics, feminist theory, and cultural critique. She has published extensively on topics such as authenticity, freedom, and the ethical implications of existentialism.

Recent publications highlight her focus on Nietzsche's concept of God, Judith Butler's recognition theory, and the intersection of philosophy and social sciences. She has participated in international conferences, including Hegel Congresses and Nietzsche studies symposiums.

She has held managerial roles such as Erasmus Program Coordinator, Deputy Head of Department, and Vice Dean at Yıldız Technical University. Her academic contributions also include book chapters and peer-review activities.
