Dr. Sonali Perera is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at Hunter College's School of Arts and Sciences, and doctoral faculty at CUNY Graduate Center. She holds a Ph.D. in English and Comparative Literature from Columbia University. Her research examines the intersections of postcolonial studies, working-class literature, and feminist theory within global contexts.
Her book 'No Country' analyzes working-class writing through frameworks of political economy and sovereignty. Current research explores human rights discourse in world literature. She serves as faculty associate of Roosevelt House Public Policy Institute's Human Rights Program and contributes to scholarly anthologies on South Asian feminisms and human rights.
Dr. Perera's publications demonstrate consistent engagement with themes of labor, globalization, and postcolonial critique, employing interdisciplinary approaches that connect literary analysis with political theory.
