Dr. Sonali Thakkar is Associate Professor in NYU's Department of English, College of Arts and Science. Her research examines the entanglement of anticolonial thought with postwar political developments including human rights institutionalization, Holocaust memory politics, and race science. Previously at University of Chicago, she has developed curricula in human rights and gender studies.

- BA International Relations and English, University of Toronto
Research explores postcolonial theory's intersections with critical human rights, Jewish studies, and memory politics through concepts of racial plasticity and repair. Publications examine UNESCO's role in racial reeducation and contemporary reparative paradigms.
