Professor Solène Rowan holds the Chair in Contract Law at The Dickson Poon School of Law, King’s College London, and serves as Vice-Dean for Students, Culture & Community. She is also Visiting Professor at Paris-Assas University and Honorary Professor at the Australian National University (ANU), where she held a Futures Scheme Funding Award (2019–2021). Her expertise spans contract, tort, commercial, and comparative law, with a focus on French legal systems. She earned her law degrees from King’s College London and Paris I (Panthéon-Sorbonne), followed by LLM and doctoral studies at the University of Cambridge.
Her research interests include contract law, comparative law, and French legal reforms, with notable publications like Remedies for Breach of Contract (2012, award-winning) and The New French Law of Contract (2022). Her work has been cited by courts in Singapore, Ireland, and Scotland. She previously held roles at the University of Oxford, ANU, and the London School of Economics (LSE).
