Peter Watts is a Visiting Professor at the Oxford Law Faculty and Senior Research Fellow of Harris Manchester College (attached to the Commercial Law Centre) since 2017. He is also an Emeritus Professor at the University of Auckland. A New Zealand King's Counsel and Fellow of the Royal Society of New Zealand, he practices as a barrister at Bankside Chambers in Auckland and is a door tenant at Fountain Court Chambers in London. In 2024, he was conferred a Doctor of Civil Law honoris causa.
