Siân Hopkins is a Lecturer in Dance (Practice) at Middlesex University's School of Arts, Faculty of Arts and Creative Industries. A graduate with First-Class Honours in Dance and an MA with Distinction in Dance Performance (Ritual specialization), she has extensive experience as a performer, creator, and educator.
- Current roles: Module Leader/Tutor for advanced dance performance and techniques
- Co-founded Kamavera Dance Theatre (2019) for collaborative creativity
- Lead Lecturer for Contemporary Dance at ISTD - Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing
Her research focuses on dance pedagogy, emphasizing positive self-perception cultivation through training and performance. With over 15 years of professional experience, she has taught at Rambert School, guest lectured internationally in Japan, Singapore, Vietnam, and Canada, and curated dance festivals.
Key research outputs include the 2023 publication on the social value of movement, exploring intersections between dance education and humanistic values. Her work spans cathedral-based performances, site-specific projects, and screendance collaborations.
