Tim Glenn is a Professor at Florida State University's School of Dance, specializing in integrating dance with technology. He holds two Bachelor of Science degrees in Dance (Performance & Choreography, InterArts & Technology) from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and an MFA in Dance from The Ohio State University. His career spans performances with the Nikolais & Murray Louis Dance Company, roles as Technology Director at the National Center for Choreography, and videographer for the Paul Taylor Company’s Repertory Preservation Project. His research focuses on Multimedia Theater, Screendance, and Dance Telematics.
Glenn’s creative works include zErO, oNe,… (2015), Triptych (2012), and Embodiments of Silence (2008), blending live performance with projection design and experimental technology. He has directed films, curated international forums on Nikolais’ legacy, and developed digital platforms like ChoreoVideo.com and DanceDocumentation.com. His choreography explores themes of spatial confinement, binary aesthetics, and transformation, often using live-feed video and synchronized projections.
Glenn has published with Cambria Press and Cambridge Scholars Publishing, focusing on dance history and screendance research. His teaching spans dance technology, movement analysis, and contemporary technique, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration. Current projects include Aqueous Myth and ongoing telematic arts experiments.
